About Zion Kelly

Zion Kelly is a media relations and communications professional based in Washington, DC, with a passion for public storytelling, youth empowerment, and civic engagement.

A proud graduate of Florida A&M University, Kelly earned his bachelor's degree in public relations from the School of Journalism and Graphic Communication in 2023. Since then, he has gained experience across journalism, production, public affairs and community programming. 

​

Most recently, Kelly served as the virtual mentoring coordinator at College Bound Inc., where he developed communications strategies, created branded content and coordinated events that supported the academic and personal growth of more than 150 students. His previous roles include communications intern in the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, staff writer for The FAMUAN and production assistant at Black News Channel.

His commitment to youth empowerment extends internationally — Kelly led a two-week speaking tour throughout Italy, sharing his story with students across the country to spread awareness about nonviolence. His work has been recognized by national outlets including CNN, The Washington Post, and Fox News, and he is a recipient of the PEN America Freedom of Expression Courage Award.
